Yes. In order for your child to be successful with sleep coaching a routine and a schedule are very important. A routine and schedule can work wonders in allowing the care givers to understand the child’sday to day progress as well as allowing the care givers to be more in tuned with the child’s over all life.

It is recommended that sleep coaching begin between the ages of 4 months and 6 monthsdue to the development of a regular sleep-wake cycle, and also, babies tend to sleep longer stretches on their own within those ages.

In order to begin sleep coaching, the recommended minimum weight your child should be is 14 pounds.

Understanding that sleep regression is a part of sleep coaching is crucial in understanding sleep coaching. The whole process of sleep coaching is so your child can begin to self soothe on their own. Which means when regressions happen (milestones, illness, teething, etc.) your child will know how to get themselves back on track with very little help from you.
